SMB Scout Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 24, 2026

Information Collection & Use

SMB Scout is a strictly local network diagnostic application. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information, telemetry, usage metrics, or network data with Teddy Tools, LionPix, or any third parties. All network testing is performed directly between your local machine and the target servers you specify.

Local Storage & Cryptography

When you choose to save a "Connection Profile" within the application, your server details and encrypted credentials are saved to a local configuration file on your hard drive. Your passwords are encrypted at rest using the Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI), ensuring they are securely tied to your specific Windows User Account. This information never leaves your device.
